Free Crochet Cowl Pattern – Mobius Dream Cowl

The Mobius Dream Cowl is a free crochet cowl pattern that is perfect for an advanced beginner-intermediate crocheter. This pattern is worked in joined rounds from start to finish. Working along both sides of the starting chain on Round 1 creates a unique twist that gives it the name Mobius. Gorgeous textured stitches are used throughout in a 2 row repeat that is easy to memorize.

• Yarn:  medium/4/worsted weight yarn
  • Approximatly 355yds/199g
  • “I Love This Yarn” by Hobby Lobby used in the pattern
• 6 mm (J) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors 

Gauge

14 DC x 7 rows = 4” x 4”

• To add or subtract width, add or subtract the repeat rows  in multiples of two.
• To add or subtract length (circumference) add or subtract from the starting chain in multiples of two. 
• CH 1 at the beginning of rows does NOT count as a stitch.
• CH 2 at the beginning of rows does NOT count as a DC
• Stitch counts are noted  at the bottom right of each row in [ ].

CH– chain

ST– stitch

SL ST– slip stitch 

SC- single crochet

DC- double crochet

FP- front post: insert hook around the post of the stitch from front of work

BP- back post: insert hook around the post of the stitch from the back of the work

Pattern 

Round  1

CH 100, join with a SL ST.

• CH 2 (does NOT count as a ST)
• DC in first ST and each ST around

**do not join**

• Tilting the beginning of the round away from you; continue working DC into the bottom of each CH. 

• Join with a SL ST to the first DC.

• CH 2 (does NOT count as a DC)
• *FP DC in same ST  

• BP DC in next  ST 

• FP DC in next ST
• Repeat from * around 

**The last ST will be BP DC

• Join the first DC with a SL ST.
